Mevo and The Groove Riders is an arcade game where tunes and rhythm come into play. You are Mevo and you are on a quest to unite the Groove riders, your band members, back together. This is how the universe becomes filled with funk, and you get to defeat The Silence. Not one of the best story-lines out there, but for a game like this, it is alright.
The game is extremely simple: Mevo runs around jumping on platforms. And there will be two different symbols on the platforms, "left" and "right". When Mevo touches this symbols, you must touch either your left or your right mouse (or "Shift") key. This is in order to add new beats to the music. There are also sustains, in which you must hold the keys for the duration of the sustains. Thats all the challenge of the game. Along the way, you can collect power-ups and new moves to customize your Mevo. The game is challenging even with the simplicity of the controls. Some tunes and beats are a bit out of rhythm sometimes. But overall, Mevo and The Groove Riders is a solid arcade game. |
